Abstract
Cooling water is used to cool fluids with a high temperature in a closed system, such as a cooling tower or heat exchanger. Sometimes, the cooling water is specified in a long tube, which risks fouling and rusk. This research will study cooling water quality as Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), chlorine concentration, and antiscale. In the design of the cooling tower at PLTGU Tanjung Uncang, the range or limit of the permitted TDS is 50,000. If this figure has been reached, the cooling tower must be blown down. Blowdown is water in the cooling tower that is deliberately removed to avoid the concentration of impurities during heat evaporation. At PLTGU Tanjung Uncang, the permitted chlorine concentration is in the range of 0.2-0.5. Chlorine flow in the cooling tower at PLTGU Tanjung Uncang is reversed with Cl concentration and TDS. Inject Antiscale aims to maintain cooling tower performance, which aims to be anti-rust.
