Abstract
The focus of this study is the confidence level of students of the Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) degree programme at a University or Post Graduate Level Colleges in Lahore, Pakistan. The research was conducted to measure the impact of a few components of the BA (English Literature) degree program in building the confidence level of students. For purposes of this study the primary data was collected using a questionnaire. A set of 150 questionnaires was distributed to the subjects of the study. There were 35 questions divided into 5 groups in the questionnaire. The data was collected from the students of the BA (English Literature) degree program and the faculty members of the University of Education, Lahore, Government Degree College Samanabad and Women Islamia College, Cooper Road Lahore located in the Lahore region. The variables used in the study were components like teaching skills and communication, academic curriculum structure, non-academic curriculum structure, code of conduct and social activities. The SPSS analysis revealed a great impact of the BA (English Literature) degree program in building the confidence levels of students. The study concluded that the BA (English Literature) degree program is of much benefit to students in their future careers.
