Abstract

We report a new record for the bat species Dryadonycteris capixaba (Chiroptera, Phyllostomidae),the first for the Cerrado biome, based on two specimens collected in palm swamps (“veredas”) in the municipality of Turmalina, state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil. This record confirms that D. capixaba is not endemic to Atlantic rainforest areas, although it may be associated with mesic habitats.
