Identifikasi Kandungan Minyak Alpukat sebagai Bahan Baku Industri Kosmetik

Abstract

This study aims to characteristics of avocado oil. Avocado was taken in Solok regency, West Sumatra which is the center of avocado production. Avocado oil extraction method is used soxhlet extraction by n-hexane solvent. The results showed that yield of avocado oil extracted 66% from dry weight, then determined the characteristics of avocado oil. Fatty acid composition of avocado acid is caprylic acid (0.9% acid), lauric acid (9.41%), myristic acid (4.00%), palmitic acid (14.44%), palmitoleic acid (0.84 %), oleic acid (14.81%), linolenic acid (1.36%) with total of 45.78%. Dominant of fatty acids in avocado oil is oleic acid, besides composition of palmitic acid and laurate is also large. Therefore, avocado oil belongs to laurin-palmito-olein group.
