Abstract

In this paper, the magnetic and crystallographic properties of nano-composite composing multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) were investigated. The nano-composite was prepared by sol-gel method. The nano-composite prepared by sol-gel method shows unique structure with nano-sized maghemite particles decrease the surface of MWCNTs. The grain size of maghemite increase with the increase of the MWCNT composition. Coercivities of the nano-composite decrease from about 265 Oe to 216 Oe with the increase of the MWCNT/ Fe2O3 composition from 0 wt% to 23.0 wt%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
