Abstract
Interscalene brachial plexus block was considered for analgesia in 100 outpatients requiring manipulation of a displaced Colles' fracture. Of the 96 blocks performed, 88 (92%) provided satisfactory analgesia, and there were no serious problems. The place of this technique in the accident and emergency department is discussed with particular relation to alternative anaesthetic techniques. Copyright © 1983, Wiley Blackwell.
