Abstract

Preeclampsia is a disorder of pregnancy, characterized by hypertension (B.P >140/90 mm Hg) noted at two separate times, more than four hours apart and proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation. Despite extensive researches, the exact pathogenesis remains unclear. This chapter presents an updated overview on the principal factors involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
