En este artículo se repasan las principales justificaciones de la educación físicacomo asignatura del currículum escolar y se presentan las principales reconstruccionesque, según el autor, necesita la educación física para adaptarla a los tiemposque vivimos. El artículo finaliza con algunos retos a los que se enfrenta la asignaturay los profesionales.In this paper the main justifications of physical education as a subject of theschool curriculum are reviewed and it is also presented the main reconstructionsthat, according to the author, physical education needs to update to the currenttimes.
