Abstract
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women. It is estimated that 10 out of 100,000 people are affected by breast cancer and 70% of patients check themselves at advanced stage. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Peer Support Groups and Increased Breast Self-Examination Behavior. The design used is correlational cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling, namely Consecutive sampling as many as 79 respondents. Analysis of the data used is the Spearman Rank Correlation statistical test. The results of statistical tests with Spearman Rank Correlation showed that there was a relationship between Peer Support and Breast Self-Examination Behavior (BSE) with a significance value of p = 0.010 (p < 0.05) means the relationship between Peer Roles and Breast Self-Examination Behavior. The results of the study concluded that the role of Peer Support (Peer Support) is very important in improving Breast Self-Examination Behavior which is very useful for early detection of Mammary Ca. For this reason, it is necessary to support the community and health workers to increase the role of peers in the success of Breast Self-Examination (BSE) as an effort for early detection of breast cancer.
