Abstract

An experiment was conducted to analyze the limits of changes in the delay and attenuation of radar probing pulses under the effect of ice coatings on power liens. The threshold accuracy of the radar probing of ice is measured and compared to the sensitivity of modern REIS-type reflectometers. Results of monitoring ice coatings on power lines via radar probing are presented. © Allerton Press, Inc., 2011.
