Abstract

This work proposes an energy physicalization for long-term sharing of Smart Campus data: Lumiphys. We designed Lumiphys to increase the community's awareness of the campus energy consumption-inspired by previous examples of energy visualizations but based on criteria to ensure its durability, integration with the environment, and visual encoding familiarity. Our proposal contrasts with previous work, which focuses on residential power data and ephemeral installations. This paper contributes to the reflection on how to design long-term energy physicalizations and Smart Campus visualizations.
