Development and evolution of sedimentary environments during the Holocene in the western coastal plain of Belgium.

Abstract

The interrelationship of the different depositional sedimentary environments in their areal distribution and through time has been investigated. The study of the entire Holocene sequence and the 3-dimensional view of it showed the existence of a depression in the pre-Holocene surface where initially a tidal flat came into being in which tidal channels developed.-from Author
