Abstract

Measurements of the absolute intensity of Kα and Lα x-ray characteristic lines from x-ray tubes have been compared with values predicted by an electron-transport calculation. Agreement is within 6% for Kα lines and 35% for Lα lines, when the ionization cross sections used in the calculation are taken from Burhop, modified as has been suggested by Green and others. © 1971 The American Institute of Physics.
