This article deals with an experiential training course for futureonline language teachers. This course is offered in two different versions,one with synchronous and one with asynchronous communication. We focus on the monitoring of the pedagogical relationship in both versions. We aim at highlighting specificities of both communication modes and at suggesting some hints for tutor training. © Cned/Lavoisier 2010.
