Abstract

Paoshan Yue (University of Nevada, Reno) and Liz Burnette (North Carolina State University) speculated about the future of e-resource management in their tactics session presentation, Betting a Strong Hand in the Game of Electronic Resource Management, during the 2007 NASIG conference in Louisville, Kentucky. Staffing, tools, and workflows are the three main cards in the game of electronic resource management. How does one creatively leverage the best of the three to create an e-resource management model that will meet the needs of your users? People (i.e., staffing) choose tools and design workflows; tools stimulate people to upgrade skills and change workflows; workflows incorporate people and tools. Topics covered in this session included an overview of staffing, tools, and workflows, workflow analysis and design, as well as e-resource access management design. © 2008 by The Haworth Press.
