Abstract
Role play is conceived as a didactic strategy focused on the development of cognitive and attitudinal skills, applicable at any educational level, given its versatility. In this sense, this text presents a brief description of the role play, its main elements, its methodological structure, as well as the advantages and ways to overcome the possible risks of its application. To materialize this, on the one hand, an example of a role-play application is presented whose theme focuses on the development of empathy in eleventh-grade students, with respect to the actors in combat and the victims of the colombian armed conflict. On the other hand, the role play is explained in detail through a workshop that provides the methodology to be applied in any context.
