Abstract

This paper presents a review on the past and present methods of the compressed air energy storage (CAES) system. In this paper, the CAES processes will be classified and compared. Then, a comprehensive review on the suitability of CAES theories towards renewable energy system is given. Finally, the evaluations on the CAES application in wind energy system is also discussed, after assessing the CAES concepts’ individual strengths and weaknesses. © 2020, World Academy of Research in Science and Engineering.
