Abstract

© 2016 Centro de Estudos Internacionais do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL). This work intends to make a few remarks about LGBT activism in the context of great political and social hostility. In some African countries, especially Uganda and Kenya, there have been some homophobia movements that have state support. That homophobia is reflected in others, violence toward people who identify as lesbian, gay, or other, or are perceived as such. The aim is to take the pulse to LGBT movements remain, almost underground system but are resistance points against homophobia in society and the state.
