Abstract
This article discusses ways to improve the testing of student program runtime behavior. This improvement allows the programs to be tested more extensively, allows information to be sent electronically to students, and all of this will increase the efficiency of the instructor. In the final analysis it should also improve the programming ability of students in the programming language course and, after all, that is the most important goal. © 1989, ACM. All rights reserved.
