Abstract
This article reveals the essence, perspectives and role of online education. Such a concept as EdTech (Educational Technologies) is considered. The stages of development of education built by means of information technologies are presented. The concepts of VR, AR, MR and their possibilities in online learning are also discussed. The problems of traditional education, the advantages and disadvantages of online education and its possibilities are revealed.
