Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the Instructional Technologies Course in the new teacher training program. The study was carried out with a qualitative research design for the purpose. 144 teacher candidates enrolled in the course in the fall term of the 2019-2020 academic year at Pamukkale University Faculty of Education, and 4 instructors conducting the course in the same unit participated in the study. Data were collected with a online written opinion form from the participants. The data are supported by the findings obtained from the material exhibition held at the end of the term. Qualitative data analysis program was employed in the analysis of the data. The findings reflect that the lesson is necessary. In addition to this, the content of the Instructional Technologies Course was found sufficient. On the other hand, negative findings were reached regarding the theoretical structure and duration of the course. It was stated by the participants that the instructors who will carry out the Instructional Technologies Course should be competent in the context of technology. In addition to all these, it has been determined that the course contributes to professional development and material design. It is thought that these findings may open a window for further research.
