Abstract

This paper presents a post-fault tolerant analysis of symmetrical six-phase induction machines under one to three open circuit faults considering maximum torque and minimum loss for different neutral connections namely single isolated and two isolated neutrals. Post-fault performance is performed based on derating factor, minimum stator copper loss and minimum peak current. The rationality of the theoretical post-fault current limits are justified by the simulation result. In addition, a user-friendly graphical user interface tool has been developed for teaching and learning purposes in machine and drive course using Matlab.
