Abstract

The configuration of the ecclesiastic colonial power is a topic that crosses a much more wide and complex orbit that the issue of the conversion, the process of evangelization or the advanced misional in border areas. The city was a headquarters of ecclesiastical authorities whose activities included basic tasks for the community as were the administration of justice and the record of the sacramental acts of the parish. In the urban setting of Santa Fe the parochial configuration adopted criteria for distinction socio-ethnic of the parishioners assigning its residents to one or other one of both parishes as they were Spanish or natives. This proposal addresses the configuration of the native's curacy of Santa Fe del Rio de la Plata investigating its conditions of existence and functioning.
