Abstract

The first aim of this research is to grasp the benefit of rooftop greening quantitatively by Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) Survey of the apartment households. The second aim is to evaluate the administration's present basis of promotion policies of rooftop greening. As a result:(1) The benefits of the rooftop greening and the important elements for improving effectiveness are clarified.(2) The policy of mandatory greening by Tokyo Metropolitan Government has some validity.(3) Bonus of floor area ratio for greening by MILT needs to be improved.(4)Combination of these two measures doesn't work effectively in Tokyo Metropolitan Area. © 2003, The City Planning Institute of Japan.
