Abstract

In this technical paper a summary of the available in situ spectroelectrochemical methods, their basic principles, their typical applications, and their limitations is given. With respect to the names of the methods and usual abbreviations, the paper follows the literature as far as possible, but tries to point out inconsistencies. An introductory section gives a summary of the basic equations and introduces the IUPAC recommendations for quantities and symbols. © 1998, Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
