Abstract

We apply Cartan's method of equivalence to find a Bäcklund autotransformation for the tangent covering of the universal hierarchy equation. The transformation provides a recursion operator for symmetries of this equation. © 2014 Versita Warsaw and Springer-Verlag Wien.
