Abstract

Trimethylsilyl 2-nitrobenzenesulfenate, prepared by heating N-benzylidene-2-nitrobenzenesulfinamide with trimethylsilyl chloride, is a convenient, high yield source of 2-nitrobenzenesulfenic acid and 2-nitrobenzenesulfenate ion when treated with alcohol and alkoxides, respectively. © 1976, American Chemical Society.
