PERILAKU IBU PRIMIPARA DALAM PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI KECAMATAN TEGAL BARAT KOTA TEGAL

Abstract

Various reasons were stated by mothers not to breastfeed their babies including primiparous mothers where breastfeeding was an initial experience that was not easy to do and eventually gave up and switched to using formula milk. This study aims to analyze factors of the experience of breastfeeding primipara mothers. This research is qualitative with clinical action approach. The number of informants are two breastfeeding mothers who live in Tegal Barat Districs in March 2018. Interviews with informants obtained influential factor of breastfeeding, breastfeeding motivation, how exclusive breastfeeding practices, found barriers and expected support during theylive with parents-in-law. This information can be used as a reference for researchers in providing breastfeeding counseling for primipara mothers from antenatal to postnatal. For the government, this research can be used as a material to evaluate the success of breastfeeding program so as to contribute in increasing coverage of breastfeeding exclusively in infants to achieve optimal growth and health in Tegal Barat Districs of Tegal City.
