Ciências Sociais e Saúde no Brasil: Três Décadas de Ensino e Pesquisa

Abstract

Este texto aborda a especificidade das Ciências Sociais e Saúde, no âmbito da Saúde Coletiva, enfatizando dimensões de sua institucionalização, o perfil de seus profissionais, o ensino e a produção científica, durante as três últimas décadas no Brasil. Identifica, em cada um dos aspectos analisados, as suas principais características, conteúdos, os problemas e perspectivas para o maior incremento daquela área.The paper focus on the specificity of the Social Sciences in the field of Collective Health. It reviews Social Sciences and Health institutionalization, the outlines of the professionals involved in the field, the teaching and the scientific production of these disciplines over the last three decades in Brazil. It discusses in each subject its main characteristics, contents and problems, and the prospects for an enhanced role of Social Science in the field of Collective Health.
