Abstract

This paper analyzed the experience with art and fashion in visual arts education, developed in a public school in northeastern Brazil. The methodological approach of pedagogical projects in visual arts was used, applying twelve theoretical and practical classes, creating experiences with textile art from the reuse of plastic bags for the making of garments using the techniques of moulage and crochet. The activities led the students to reflect about the social role of art in fashion and their personal contribution to sustainability through the customization of solid residues.
