Faking it

Abstract

Bulk terminal simulation models and their increasing application to plan terminal layouts or test potential improvements is discussed. The G2 expert system model produced by the Gensym Corp., is outlined. Soros Associates of the U.S. are developing a complex model for a bauxite loading terminal. Model construction and refinement are discussed. The need for experienced users who understand the intrinsic nature of the terminal system is stressed. (J.M.M.)
