Abstract
Palladium complexes of three trans-spanning diphosphines are examined for effecting C-C coupling reactions. Ten aryl halides of varying electron density were screened in Suzuki coupling reactions with phenylboronic acid and in Heck reactions with styrene. The results are discussed in terms of the unique flexibility and shape of the meta-terphenyl backbone upon which the diphosphine ligand is built. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
