Abstract

Viral gastroenteritis is one of the most commonly noted illnesses in pediatric practice. Since the mid-1970s, knowledge has increased dramatically concerning the viral agents that are responsible for much of this public health burden. This report reviews the essential problems regarding clinical manifestation, treatment, epidemiology, diagnosis and prevention of the viral gastroenteritis. An actual view of classification, epidemiologic and clinical features, morphology and diagnosis of the separate viral agents is made up. The classic and the contemporary fast methods of viral detection are described.
