The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support Among Menopausal Women

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the multidimensional scale of perceived social support among menopausal women. A cross-sectional design was used. The total number of participants was 235 women, recruited by convenience sampling. The mean age of the women was 52.38 with a standard deviation of 4.17 years. The number of premenopausal, perimenopausal, and postmenopausal women was 72, 68 and 95, respectively. This study showed that the social support that the postmenopausal women received from their families was higher than that of the premenopausal women. Keywords: menopause, social support, the woman
