Abstract

In summary, we need to ask the right question, not what is the correct number of resident duty hours, but rather, how do we train residents. This will involve weighing public concerns and the actual negative consequences of fatigue against insuring sufficient clinical experience for adequately training the next generation of pediatricians, to find the right balance. © 2011 International Pediatric Research Foundation, Inc.
