Abstract

Quality in healthcare is a multidimensional concept spanning all processes. This chapter focuses on aspects of defining and measuring clinical quality and describes a performance improvement model characterized by multidisciplinary participation. Illustrative examples of clinical quality improvement projects related to the practice of anesthesiology are presented.
