Abstract

Nano crystalline Mn1-xZnxFe2O4(x = 0.0 - 1.0) spinel ferrite have been synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method. Prepared samples were annealed at 1000 °C for 3 hrs to study the effect of high temperature sintering on their structural and magnetic properties. The x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis reveals the presence of cubic spinel phase and, secondary phase of β-Fe2O3. Variation in the structural parameters obtained from XRD analysis are interpreted in terms of changes in the Zn concentration. Obtained magnetic properties can be ascribed to the solubility of cations in the ferrite lattice and distribution of cations on tetrahedral and octahedral sites.
