Abstract

Waste projection is useful for determining the amount of waste that will be produced globally during the following few decades. The purpose of this study is to map the current state of global research and future development trends of waste projection studies. This study uses a bibliometric approach by analyzing 1,342 scientific publications over half a century based on the database of Scopus. The findings show that Resources Conservation and Recycling, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and the United States were the most productive publication sources, research institutions, and countries in the study of waste projection. The research proposes a concept of WEWCAP research themes for waste projection research.
