Abstract
The commentary presented concerns two observations published in Psychosomatic Investigation, written by Michel de M'Muzan, Pierre Marty and Christian David. The phenomenon of "operatory thought" observed by the authors is the object of interpretations which can be different or at least complementary: more phenomenological for P. Marty, more metapsychological in this article. The notion of a "traumatic breakdown" is discussed : the consequence of a purely quantitative factor, or of the failure of "operatory thought".
