Abstract

Introduction: Broken home families have an impact on adolescents such as emotional instability, being rebellious, irritable, lacking confidence, aggressive, bullied. Psychological changes can be indicated by the presence of emotional mental disorders. Skrening emotional mental disorders are needed so that adolescents with broken homes can be given appropriate interventions. The purpose of this study was to find out the emotional mental symptoms and demographic factors that affect the emotional mentality of adolescents who experience broken homes in dampit village. Method: Research design uses analytics with a cross sectional approach. Sampling this study using total sampling obtained a sample of 100 respondent.  Data collection using google form and analysis is done using Chi Square. Results and Analysis: The results of the study using SRQ-29 questionnaires were found to be mostly without symptoms, namely 75 adolescents (75%), a small percentage of 15 adolescents (15%) experienced anxiety, 9 adolescents (9%) experienced PTSD, 2 adolescents (2%) experienced drugs. The results of the analysis of demographic data related to adolescent emotional mental, namely residence and work. Respondents who lived with one of the family members such as father / mother / brother had a strong relationship with SRQ (p = 0.001) with a symptomless rate of 46.5%, anxiety 9.3%, PTSD 5.6% and drugs 0.6%. As for respondents who did not work had a relationship with SRQ of p = 0.049 with a symptomless rate of 61.5%, anxiety 12.3%, PTSD 7.4%. Age, gender, causes of broken home did not show a significant relationship. Discussion: Routinescreening and follow-up treatment is both pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapy and needs to form a psychological support program or system in adolescents with broken homes.Â
