Abstract

Metabolites isolated from the soybean pathogen Colletotrichum truncatum were identified as meso- and d-(-)-butane-2, 3-diol and the previously unreported compound, colletruncoic acid methyl ester, to which structure 1 is assigned mainly on ]H- and 13CMR evidence. The compound has a skeleton unprecedented for a fungal polyketide. The previously unknown 2-hy-droxymethylhexa-2 was also isolated. © 1986, Verlag der Zeitschrift für Naturforschung
