Abstract

Summary: Gigantomastia is a rare pathologic condition characterized by an excessive and abnormal breast development. To date, there is no universally accepted definition or classification of this disease. The purpose of this article is to present a case of extreme and disabling gigantomastia caused by pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia, the rarest etiology of gigantomastia. Very few cases have been listed in the literature. We believe this case of gigantomastia is unique because of its associated severe morbidity considerably impacting the patient's life. Good aesthetic results and high patient satisfaction can be achieved with bilateral breast reduction and free nipple areola grafts.
