Abstract

The event tourism stands out in Brazil as a segment on the rise. These events provide social and economic benefits in terms of increasing tourism in low season, disclosing the image of the tourist destination, improving infrastructure that benefits tourists and residents. Nowadays Brazil is an important fashion hub and therefore carries out periodic and relevant fashion events. In this context, the article discusses the fashion week's attractiveness, in order to ascertain the contribution of these events in strengthening tourism. The exploratory study of qualitative approach was based on a literature review on the tourist segmentation, events, fashion events and tourism, and field research. According to the research findings, fashion weeks move the production chain of fashion and tourism in Brazil.
