Abstract

The Glanville fritillary butterfly offers unique opportunities for population genetic studies in a metapopulation. Here I report the characterization of five polymorphic loci in Melitaea cinxia. I found high levels of polymorphism, with allele numbers ranging from nine to 43, and very broad size ranges. © 2006 Blackwell Publishing Ltd.
