Abstract
The viability of bioeconomic increasing levels of crude glycerin was evaluated, 0, 4, 8 and 12% of dry matter in diets of lactating dairy cows fed with sugarcane. Were used 16 cows Holstein x Zebu (blood level varying from to Holstein), third or fourth lactation with previous production between 3000 and 4000 kg, adjusted to 300 days, and 80 to 120 days of lactation in beginning of the experiment, which were divided into four 4x4 Latin Square. The information required for elaboration of this work and composition of the costs, (prices, lifetime, etc.) were collected from the farmers, extension workers and rural businesses in the region, in January-December 2010. Studying the viability bioeconomic levels of glycerin in the diet it was concluded that the inclusion of crude glycerin was effective in productivity, promoting a linear increase (P<0.05), and profitability and did not affect dry matter intake (P>0.05) with a viable use in diets of lactating dairy cows in the present experimental conditions. The diet with the highest rate of crude glycerin inclusion, 12% of dry matter, would be more appropriate.
