Abstract

Part I of this series of two reviews focused on fundamentals, instrumentation and operation of sector field instruments to give a proper overview of the capabilities of the actual commercially available instrumentation. In part II, selected applications of the last decade are discussed in detail concluding with pinpointing possible future trends and current developments. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011.
