Abstract

The article reports the results of a literature review on criteria used for the evaluation of the quality of information sources. A bibliographic search was conducted in three idioms (Portuguese, Spanish and English) to analyse the scientific production related to sources of information, services and quality of information, as well as the criteria used for their assessment. After a research on articles and other publications in the period 1974 to 2016;, the results indicate the existence of 73 models. The most frequently mentioned criteria were also identified. It was found that there are 106 distinct terms, highlighting the following: precision/accuracy of information, updating information, design/layout, reliability and completeness of the information, relevance/importance.
