Abstract
The use of diesel motors is now very large, while diesel motors require regular maintenance, especially the injection pump which must be calibrated after dismantling. If the injection pump is not calibrated it will impact engine performance. EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) which relies on an electric pump regulated by sensors or where the air and fuel mixture is controlled electronically. Having an injection system does not mean it is maintenance free. If the car is operated for too long and consumes fuel that is not of good quality, it will result in dirty injection holes. This is indicated by a decrease in injector work with symptoms in the car of wasteful fuel consumption, low power, high air and engine pollution. overheating, improper fogging brings its own problems to engine performance. The research was carried out directly through Field Work Practices (PKL) at the Marthin Auto Service Workshop, observations made revealed that problems often occurred because the owner did not understand the characteristics of the injection system so that care, maintenance and prevention of injector damage on EFI cars was not optimal. This maintenance is a method used so that the injector can function properly and anticipate early damage to the EFI system according to the procedures provided. Based on the proposed problem formulation, this research aims to explain how electronic fuel injection works as well as maintenance and repair to achieve maximum performance to anticipate possible damage to the Electric Fuel Pump.
