Abstract
In this manuscript we cited work by (Yuan et al. 2020; at the time a BioRxiv manuscript; now Yuan et al., 2021) with reference to “ETI- and salicylic acid-induced PRR upregulation” at the end of the Discussion: “. . . our findings on CDG1 shed light onto the biological relevance of ETI- and salicylic acid-induced PRR upregulation (Tateda et al., 2014; Yuan et al., 2020), which seems to be essential for compensating for negative regulator- or pathogen effector-induced PRR depletion.” This was a mis-citation, as Yuan et al. (2021) in fact stated that “upregulation of PRR-encoding genes such as FLS2, EFR and LYK5 was not observed during AvrRpt2-induced ETI in bacteria-infected Col-0 plants.” We apologize for this error. We further note that new work from Ngou et al. (2021) reported weak ETI-induced upregulation of FLS2 and CERK1: “ETI triggered by different effectors strongly increased the transcript abundance of BAK1, SOBIR1, BIK1, RBOHD and MPK3, and weakly increased that of CERK1, FLS2, RBOHF, MPK4 and MPK6” (Ngou et al., 2021). Therefore, we would like to amend our statement to cite Ngou et al. (2021) in place of the Yuan et al. manuscript, as “. . . our findings on CDG1 shed light onto the biological relevance of ETI- and salicylic acid-induced PRR upregulation (Tateda et al., 2014; Ngou et al., 2021), which seems to be essential for compensating for negative regulator- or pathogen effector-induced PRR depletion.” All authors are in agreement with this correction, and our original conclusions are unaltered.
