Abstract
The article discusses the unified digital format registry. The author mentions that the ultimate goal of digital preservation is to keep content usable by making sure that it remains compatible with modern technology. She also explains that formats play a key role in determining if digital material is usable, and it is essential for institutions engaged in long-term digital preservation to have the same format, thus the conception of the unified digital format registry.
